SO IS CLLR TURNUP ON A WITCHHUNT? YOU DECIDE!

TAKEN from CLLR TURNIPS FACEBOOK FEED    Its a bit rich as over the years, any money for the ward has all ben spent on the golden triangle the points taken include the School, Cllr Turnips house and the Royal Mail Pillar Box.  The rest of Stanground East ward has been left to rot and now will be swallowed up by Cardea as South Stanground. It not the first time Cllr Turnip has had a go at people who rent.... sad individual.  This is what he wrote:

A selfish individual has dumped this load of rubbish (including a rabbit hutch) on the green wheel at the bottom of Aydon Road.
This is not acceptable and blights our lovely community. All I need is a name and address and I'll get the enforcement team to make a house call and prosecute or seek a breach of tenancy with a view to eviction if we can prove it.

If you know who or where it came from, give me a call in confidence.

  • 9 people like this.
  • Rachel Cousins Chris Harper, why are you making the assumption that the person who dumped this rents their home? Is this yet another dig at people who live in social housing?
    • Councillor Chris Harper There is no assumption here Rachel only that of your own. I've never had a dig at social housing tenants so I'm assuming you've been fed a pack of political lies made up in the past and used in an attempt to damage my reputation during the last election? You can of course believe who or what you wish but I would ask you to consider the fact that I grew up in a council house, my mum and brother still live in a council house and my sister and son rent too as did I at first and as do many people I know. Hardly I would suggest the makings of someone who has something against social housing tenants as you allude to. The post appeals for information about who did this while reminding people should they be in rented accomodation, that they are likely to be in breach of their tenancy agreement if they flytip. It doesn't even mention social housing tenants as you have chosen to do. There is no excuse for this whether a person rents or owns their home.
    • Rachel Cousins I agree with you there that flytipping is unacceptable. You did mention in your post that the fly tipper was a tenant though. There are good and bad people in all walks of life. I believe that everyone is equal regardless of race, religion or social background. if I have misinterpreted your post then I apologise.
    • Jan Hamilton It didn't state a tenant. It stated team to prosecute OR seek breach of tenancy agreement. Both homeowners and tenants are covered in that statement.
    • Councillor Chris Harper I appreciate that if you've been fed the pack of lies that you have Rachel you might come to the conclusion you did. The people decided at the last election and will at the next one who they believe, me or Chris York. I'm happy to let them be the judge.
    • Jan Hamilton It's turned into a political argument on keep Stanground talking. I can't believe just because people support different parties that they have to slag others off over nothing. Leaving them to it now. Really can't be bothered. Probably best to take your original post down to stop further argument s
    • Councillor Chris Harper Thanks Jan but there's nothing wrong with my post so I don't see the need to take it down because someone wants to get all political about it. It is the person responsible for the mess who needs to be taken to task. I can't see the clearly politically moderated Facebook page you mention anyway.
    • Jan Hamilton Just a few people getting personal now. Will see if copy
    • Councillor Chris Harper To be honest Jan I'm not interested in political diatribe. Better things to do with my time like fighting to stop an Anaerobic Waste Plant for instance. If anyone has something they want to say or ask, tell them to make contact with me and I'll arrange to meet with them personally. I can't be fairer than that.
    • Jan Hamilton Can't see the keyboard warriors wanting to meet lol.
  • Jan Hamilton I shared your post to keep Stanground talking and Chris York interpreted it to twist it round as well. Clearly states to prosecute or tenancy breach. Tenants and homeowners fall under that statement. I removed my post as it was clearly political and not what the post was about at all.
    • Councillor Chris Harper Exactly Jan, jealous political claptrap over my real commitment to our community. I'm happy for the people to judge who it is they believe on this one. My conscience is clear.
    • Jan Hamilton I'm leaving them to it over in keep Stanground talking. Really is a load of tripe
